If you pick the wrong network (chain) when sending, your assets can be hard to recover. Use exactly the address and network the app gives you. Check the app for the current list of supported coins.

Getting started

From sign-up to your first payment

Install App

Download the RedotPay app from the App Store or Google Play.

Identity verification

Complete verification with your ID and a face scan. It usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to a day.

Apply for a card

The virtual card is issued as soon as you pay the issuance fee. If you have a discount code, enter it on this screen.

Load coins

Send coins to the address and network the app gives you.

Start paying

Add the card to a mobile wallet, or pay online with the card number.

Verification

What you need for verification

  • ID documentA passport, driver's licence or national ID card. Which types are accepted depends on your country of residence.
  • Face scanHold your face up to the camera as the app instructs. It tends to pass more easily in good light, with glasses and hats removed.
  • Country of residenceSome countries are not served. Check first whether your country can be selected on the sign-up screen.

If the name you enter does not match the one on your ID, the application is rejected. It is safest to use the spelling exactly as it appears in your passport.

Fees

Which fees apply

Knowing in advance where the charges fall means fewer surprises about how much is left.

  • Card issuance feePaid once for each card type. A discount code can reduce it.
  • Top-up feeCharged when you load coins. On top of this, the blockchain transfer cost is separate.
  • Transaction feeCharged as a percentage of the payment amount.
  • Paying in another currencyPaying in a currency other than your card's adds a currency conversion cost.
  • ATM withdrawalsCharged when you withdraw cash with the physical card. The ATM operator may also charge a fee of its own.

Fee rates vary with card tier and RedotPay policy, and they change often. That is why no percentages are listed in this guide. Check the app and the official information for current figures before you apply.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Can I use it in the country where I live?

Whether you can sign up and get a card depends on your country of residence. The quickest check is to see whether your country can be selected on the sign-up screen in the app.

Do I really need a bank account?

No. There is no bank account and no credit check; you pay with the coins you have loaded into the wallet.

Can I use the card as soon as it is created?

The virtual card can be used for online payments and mobile wallets as soon as it is issued. The physical card has to be shipped, and delivery times vary by region.

What happens if coin prices fall?

The value of the coins in your wallet falls with them, so the amount you can spend goes down too. If price swings are a concern, keeping the balance in dollar-pegged coins such as USDT or USDC makes it easier to predict.

What should I do if a payment is declined?

It can happen when the balance is too low, when the merchant does not accept this kind of card, or when the card currency and the payment currency do not match. You can check the reason for the decline in the payment history in the app.

Where do I enter a discount code?

In the code field on the card application screen. It cannot be entered once the application is complete, so copy it before you apply.

What if I lose my card?

You can freeze the card immediately in the app. Once it is frozen, you can apply for a new one.

What about tax?

Tax treatment for spending or converting crypto differs from country to country. Please check the rules in your country of residence or consult a tax professional. This guide is not tax advice.
